Guest blog- Betty Pampers New Season Outfit Picks

26/02/2014

back to blog

It’s been such a long cold winter and I for one am so ready to ditch the darks and brighten up my wardrobe.

This seasons pastel trends are absolutely perfect for stepping into spring. Duck egg blues, petal pinks and daffodil yellows; you can’t help but feel that sunshine is just around the corner when you start wearing these shades.yours (24)

For a really easy pastel clothing injection these eyelash cardigans are as soft as a kittens paw and look great with jegging’s and heals (I’m crushing on these grey and black floral leggings. I just love putting dove grey next to ice cream colours; it’s the perfect combination). Having tried oversized knitwear for the first time only a few weeks ago (I was always worried it would swamp me) I’m a total convert.

It’s one part grunge, to one part boyfriend jacket chic, with a lovely feminine edge.

Accessories are also a great way to incorporate the pastel trend and work with items already in your wardrobe. This yellow structured tote bag is such delicious arm candy and will work with pretty much any colour in your wardrobe. Scarves are another great inexpensive outfit update and this neon pink and cream floral scarf is ticking so many trend boxes. You can wear it round your neck, tied to your handbag or in a big Minnie Mouse style hairbow.

If full on pastels aren’t quite your thing you could try just adding a hint of it to denims.

This grey and pink floral print jumper looks perfect with a light blue denim look skater skirt Add some fuchsia pink cropped leggings and it also makes a cheeky nod to 80’s which is a trend that just keeps on going strong.yours (18)

Finally spring often heralds wedding invites and Easter get-together’s and for a party dress that’s as a cute as a cupcake this mint chiffon dress with lace detail is hard to beat. Floaty, girly, with a little bit of Mermaid ocean princess thrown in. Wear it with flowers in your hair and run barefoot across the lawn (ok it’s not summer, maybe wear shoes)

These are my new season picks. Will you be embracing all things sugary with the pastel trend?
