How to wear Plus-Size Fashion this Festival Season

Festival tickets at the ready and enough alcohol to fill the River Thames… check! All that is missing is your perfect plus-size outfit.

Taking into consideration that the Great British weather, is actually not so great – just adds another spanner into the festival works!

Firstly, we can rule out dressing for a burning Coachella heatwave this festival season in the UK.

In other words, unless you can justify catching pneumonia for a twenty minute rave to Disclosure, take an outer layer.

Utilize a printed/busy outer layer to contrast a plainer outfit or try a heavily patterned dress with a plainer cover up. (With the exception of daring eccentrics who can pull off print on print!)

So what is on trend this summer and how can we wear it plus-size?

Well, what we have noted this year is that floral has been replaced with tassel. Vibrant summer colours have been replaced with a darker pallet of black, brown, khaki and tan. So what we have, is an ambiance of western inspired festival goers with colours perfectly flattering for plus-size.

Point No.2 – TASSEL IN, FLORAL OFF.

The under garment doesn’t have to be tight underneath your outer layer. So contrary to the 90’s, baggy on baggy works!

Further, being able to move sufficiently and comfortably at a festival is crucial. (Allowing your inner Louie Spence to be set free to parade across the dance floor – AKA the field.)

So point No.3 – BEING FREE IS THE KEY.

Accessories?

Accessorize to the max. No plus-size outfit is complete without necklaces, bangles, anklets, earrings, rings or even a hat. (Especially if you are rocking the western theme colours – contrast your outfit with jewelry overload!)
